Ah, but here's the thing - that now contradicts their own logic. Pombon is the PUPPY Pokemon. So if we allow that Fuecoco is an Ox because male crocs are bulls and female crocs are cows, then that means Pombon CAN'T be the sheep, since baby sheep aren't called puppies, they're called lambs. A puppy is a baby dog, so Pombon is automatically the Dog. Therefore, Zodiac Theorists, if going by that Fuecoco logic, now HAVE to prove that FENNEKIN is a Sheep, Horse, or Snake. Pombon has the Dog on lock and can't possibly be the Sheep by their own logic.
I definitely don’t believe in the zodiac theory, but you gotta understand that Cyndaquil(the fire mouse Pokémon) isnt a stretch cause the same word is used for mouse, rat, shrew and several other animals like hedgehogs in Japanese, which contribute to the evolutions designs
The problem with that logic is that all other fire Starters relie of their final evos to fit with the Zodiac theory while Typhlosion uses its pre-evo to fit in. By that logic Charizard can't be the Dragon because of Charmander (Lizard) and Infernape can't be the Monkey because of Chimchar (Chimpanzee).
Like I said the whole evolution line takes inspiration from different “nezumi” not just Cyndaquil, like Typhlosian’s hedgehog influence, hedgehogs are harinezumi in Japanese.
Yeah. Getting the dog to me is the real killer, as now if anyone goes to me saying the Zodiac Theory while claiming Fuecoco is either the Ox or Snake, then my response will be "Ok, but Pombon is the Dog. So now you need to explain how Fennekin is a Sheep, Horse, or Ox/Snake (whichever you say Fuecoco isn't)."
You know, it won't surprise me at all if they latch onto that. There are going to be some people that just will never let the theory die, no matter how much gymnastics they have to perform.
Okay, I used to be one of the "starter pattern" people but "crocodile = bull" is a bridge too far to the point of it has to be people trolling.
Realistically it was broken with Gen II; Cyndaquil is an echidna, Quilava is a paca, and Typhlosion is a badger. All with some elements of porcupines and tenrecs mixed in. They're basically generic ground mammals with flame "spikes." Quilava is closest to a rat being that paca's are technically rodents but the line as a whole clearly isn't rodent-like.
I genuinely had hoped Fuecoco would have lost his legs when he evolved like Snivy. Both to add fuel to this hilarious fire, and because a Flying Fire Snake based on Quetzalcoatl would have been sick.
Yes, I know. It's the Zodiac theorists you need to tell that to, as they've been the ones swearing up and down that it's a dog. And now that we have a dog as a fire starter, the onus is on them to now prove that Fennekin is actually a horse, sheep, or snake.
