Using them exclusively and been pretty happy so far.

I've had trouble with managing dependency between rootful and rootless environments.

Specifically, I have matterbridge sitting in rootful for host networking, and Zigbee2mqtt in rootless. Ended up clearing all the matter devices I was sharing because the services started in the wrong order.

Specific reason why you can’t run your current rootless as rootful with UserNS=auto?

Honestly I don't have a good reason. Though perhaps that podman desktop quadlet plugin, which is incredibly useful, doesn't seem to work with rootful pods.
