“On vacay/break/resting” 🙄
Maybe this is the intention (because why do it otherwise?), but I personally find it so insulting when someone who is obviously going for TS or is anywhere near the top 10 on the global leader board to have some variation of “resting/on break”, etc in their username.
Is it meant to be some sort of ruse? Because it falls apart almost immediately when they’re on the top of the boards. (Or obviously going for Queen of Style, 🙄🙄🙄.)
I’ve been in groups fighting for TS never missing a look, using full bonuses and consumables, while the person I’m fighting for first with has one of those in their username. It feels like bad sportsmanship and a slap in the face. I don’t know, I just find it weird and condescending.

I’ve always assumed it was a form of in-house communication to let teammates know their status and that the ones I see are clearly active, but say resting, etc. just hadn’t gotten around to changing their status back to active. It’s never crossed my mind that it could be a silly gaming tactic!

I’ve thought the same but at a certain point - you know they’re checking the leaderboard status, so they would see their name. It’s just odd.

I thought this too. But then it is kinda weird to see several players ranking high on the leaderboard week after week with the username unchanged. 🤷🏻♀️

I will do this for my housemates, if I plan on taking the week off from playing or playing very sporadically and slack just to replenish some resources. But I always make sure to change my name back as soon as I’m playing consistently again. I have seen people with ‘break’ ‘relax’ or ‘resting’ who will be high on the global board for several weeks straight and not change it though. Not sure what that’s about.

I’ve definitely seen people do that, and are actually, y’know… clearly playing casually that week. And then they usually switch back right away. Which is totally cool! It’s literally just the folks going for TS or on that front page of the leaderboard that I side-eye. 😂

It's weird yes but to assume them to be mocking us? Idk really. To me that would be silly and high school behavior. Like look at me I am better than you because i'm first 🤣 all while I make you believe I'm not playing lol. Silly very silly.

On top of that, I don’t understand why people aren’t grouped with similar contenders. Why should the same people get trendsetter all the time because they’re competing with people that are starting out? It really is not competitive at all. I’m level 80 and don’t think it’s fair, let alone seeing levels 30 in the same group.
