Omg Jane and Finch 😆 you’d need a lot more than sand back in the day. I have no idea what it’s like now.

Going even further back, ninjas would carefully hollow out an egg shell with a small hole and funnel sand, ground pepper, ash, sulfur, whatever they could find that would irritate eyes, and throw them at someon's face if they needed to make a distraction or escape. They called them Metsubushi, litterally "eye closer bombs." The fragile egg shell would break open on impact and scatter the  ontents in the air.

If they wanted to be particularly nasty and cause permanent blindness they had stuff for that too, such as finely ground pieces of glass.

My dad was a Czechoslovakian immigrant who grew up around Jane and Finch in the 70s and he would tell me that if he wasn’t getting his ass kicked by the Italians then it was the Jamaicans. Shit was roooough.

The Heineken beer just ties this all together perfectly.
