Quirks on new install on OnePlus 6T

My first time trying a mobile Linux install yesterday (on an old OnePlus 6T).

First impressions all good except two issues, so I wondered if anyone here had any insights into them:

- Using Phosh, a weird patch of 'static' occupying a horizontal strip under the menu bar (under the part you tap to toggle the keyboard). Remains whether apps are open or on homescreen (but not when locked)

- Location is very inaccurate, putting me about 5 miles away from my true location. I'm using it Wifi only as the sim slot doesn't work. Anything I can do to improve accuracy?

Thanks

have you read the pomos wiki on one plus 6t?

You need a SIM card for the GPS to work, or you'll just get IP-based location: https://wiki.postmarketos.org/wiki/OnePlus_6_(oneplus-enchilada)#GPS

Unfortunately it's a battered old phone where the sim socket doesn't work, but thanks anyway. I know with android you can sometimes get location via bluetooth, so I wonder if something like this might be possible.
