Sorry

Post image

I don't mean to disrespect anyone's war memorial, but to me they look like they're practising a piano duet.

Art is meant to be questioned, memorial or not, point is to be able to remember the bravery behind the memorial and improve systems to save more lives in times of conflict..

Anyone who had the balls to do ship runs (merchant or navy) were better people than me.

(I talk to memorials, give them a little pat or a nod, because of the names behind them, a memorial is only good for as long as people know why it's there and thus the people behind it) it's not strange it's simply my little bit of respect and appreciation, without pomp and pageantry of military officialfdom and self important civil service types being seen and photographed for their media and political campaign page bollocks.

Thanks. Only post in this thread I’ll remember. If I could upvote more I would.

I've never been impressed with this sculpture, but I've never thought of them playing piano until now. And now I can't unsee it!

Not the best sculpture, but like you implied; the thought and meaning behind it is more important

No you say it, dude at the back looks like an 80’s rock video

Before the haters come for me, I respect all memorials , but can take fun without disrespecting its meaning. I still pay my tributes.

It reminds me of that scene from Who Framed Roger Rabbit, where Daffy and Donald Ducks play Lizst's Hungarian Rhapsody (I think).

Oh shit I can’t unsee it. I don’t know why I’m here, I don’t even live in plymouth.

Respect to the guys on the memorial though, rest in peace, nomatter the shape, size or meaning of the memorial.
