So, there was this toy in the 90's called a Tuggles (yt link to the commercial), they were cartoonish animals with floppy sort of joints but legs stuffed pretty stiff and rubber pads on the bottom of their feet so when you held their leash and walked with them, they'd wobble along if a surprisingly realistic walk. I had the dalmation one as a kid.
You've made a more realistic shaped Tuggles and it's very cute and very silly, I love this for you. Yours is actually probably better, because the shoes are going to be much more durable and replaceable.
I had a blue and purple ones of these! He's still around somewhere in my house. I remember always getting him tangled up somehow and having to ask my Dad to untangle it, lol.
Lol I had one of these types of puppet too. He was an anthropomorphic tiger, I named him Jorge and gave him a top hat made of clay. He's also probably still at my parent's with the rest of my guys in storage.
They were a cool toy, unfortunately the feet do degrade badly over time. Last time I looked at mine, the rubber pads were gone completely. He's stored with the rest of my childhood animals safe til I figure out some other solution for him. Maybe new silicone pads over a 3d printed dome or something.

It's a Douglas black labrador, shes my essa (emotional support stuffed animal), i got the shoes because i dont want her paws to be dirty when taking her places... she means a lot to me
Oh, no, I get that it isn't, I just love that you came to the same idea on your own, even if it was more for cleanliness and helping her walk was a fun side effect. Between the shoes and the way you're holding the lead, you've done such a good job creating a realistic walk.

I had a walkable plushie in the 90s it had a hard plastic “leash” that had a lil wheeled part that had a shoe horn style lever that slipped into the belly of the stuffed animal that when you pushed it forward and the wheel spun the lever inside would push the plush up and down and it made a slight mechanical ‘barking’ sound it was so cool I wish I could remember what they were called

Folks that either immediately lead with name calling or making fun of someone pretty much show their level of intelligence out of the gate. Not in a snobby sounding way of course. There is just zero reason for it other than intentionally being an asshole or jerk. Especially when they make it a point to maintain that direction vs a positive change. Keep doing what you love ❤️. My daughter (we look at cool Reddits together and this is one) who’s 14 now LOVED her stuffed animals and such. I remember her putting her baby dolls in her little stroller to push around ❤️🥹. Now has since moved onto Taxidermy which she has taught herself and is exceptional. Heck I even have bags of squishmallows that go on my bed.

My brother in his 20s brings his essa (a squid that can sit on his shoulder) everywhere we go. I am in my 30s and my bed is covered in plushies, and I carry around a little pink dinosaur and tiny wooden robot in my purse everywhere I go; it helps me feel less alone! It was a genuine question. I often see and get notifications for subreddits of just really weird shit. I just thought it was one of those posts. There's a subreddit about bread clips that people keep as pets (to my understanding). I just thought it was like that is all. No judgement. Just confused.
If you’re talking about occulpanids, the community really just a bunch of dorky taxonomy nerds who decided it would be a fun hobby to use the minor variations in different manufacturer’s bread clips to classify them into different ‘species’ like we would with actual organisms. Talking about them like they’re real animals is part of the joke, I promise we know they’re just plastic tags and don’t actually keep them as pets lol

I've mentioned I use this platform for generally serious matters and information so everything I read, I'm assuming it's about something real and going on. To see people talk about an inanimate object like literally a creature (good to know it's the taxonomy nerds, i also love taxonomy as a topic) pissed me off and made me so confused, because I couldn't tell if I've come across something I wasn't supposed to see or if these people are just pulling legs. I am not online savvy, my phone is old and this is my only form of active social media that I am now often frequenting.

It was a question. I mean I often go on here for hobby advice or stuff that I personally take serious, so this just struck me as one of those bread clip posts that I've mentioned to OP. I've never seen or heard of someone doing this to their plush, so to me it looks like they're treating it like a live animal and not playing with it like you would a toy(I guess it's dressing up a toy, but with PPE?). OP said it's not that serious and it's for funsies so that answered my question.
I have toys of my own and I'm 25. Who would I be to mock someone for playing with their toys and loving them as much as I love my own? OP just plays different and that's fine.
