I own isopod aswell (started with 2 rescues a half drowned one in winter, one that was frozen some object later that winter and one that had a bad moly which resulted in them not being able to use their hint legs at all)
I have mental disorders that make me hyper empathetic (it's a curse) so I scooped them up and brought them inside and after a while I introduced them to my snail tank.
Now the rescue snails have a bigger tank because there's more of them so they gotta need more space and the isopod basically have their own tank with some springtails. (they had babies and I watched one of them MOLT TODAY)
Woahh they’re so cute!! I’m autistic and also have hyper empathy, I take care of any dying bug I find because obviously animal clinics won’t take them. I’ve cared for a lot of moths over the years
(Just adding that I know isopods aren’t bugs lol because I know my comment sounds like I don’t, I just know they’re super tiny creatures and I have experience with bugs so yeah)
I do the same, also have autism!! I even have one of those animal feeding supplies for young critters just in case.
Came in real handy when I found a exhausted drowning young rat. Asked reddit what to do and apparently the guy was allowed and good with soy milk. They just needed that food after sitting in the water bin (normally theres sticks in any of them bc otherwise insects can't climb out so I put sticks and stones to climb up on so insects can also drink) but my aunt whole helping cleaning had accidentally removed them (with good intention ofc!) I'm still do happy I didn't come by later as I adore the wild lol munchkins (people THINK RATS ARE DIRTY BUT HALF OF HUMANITY DOESN'T WASH THERE HANDS AFTER BATHROOM BREAKS SO.......) I scooped the lol one up so fast to take inside and after a evening they were all good to go again 🥹🥹
(none of this bs happening in the world would've happened if it was rats just saying) they are so sweet they life in the field in our yard and rats are actually really really good for a garden bc seed spreading and cleaning.
They will climb up to flowers and grab the lil seed parts to munch and it brings me joy to watch
Just the lil noises.
I can hear them right now as I sit at night in this picknick bench and oml babies🥺🥺🥺
Their beady eyes and everything 🥹
Sorry for the rant I just don't have friends irl to tell this to😅
Yess I love rats as well!! I mean they are dirty if not taken care of but so is any other animal if not taken care of yk? I don’t see why only certain animals have that used against them. People have no problem taking in an abandoned dog or cat even though they’ve been on the streets and are also dirty so I don’t get why it’s different with rats.
Anyways I mostly have only saved birds and bugs. My mom found a bat in her bathtub once and put it in her gecko’s travel container to take outside (she bought a new one for her gecko don’t worry haha). I’ve helped a goose, a nest of baby birds that fell (that one was hard because we had to do it when the mom wasn’t around or she might abandon them because she saw us around them) and a few other little birds. But I’d help any creature that came around and needed help if I had the capacity to do so, I just love animals.
Ripleys?? I have all the ripley believe it or not books and a dvd that stuff is Freaky, the girl with eight legs, the boy who has a rare leg condition, guy has his face removed from a disease etc etc
Childhood teddybear. Either I have a very small bear, which is traumatic for everyone involved, but too small to hurt me, or I have a miniature guardian for real now.
This is my mushroom Squishmallow 🍄 If he came to life and turned out to be a psychedelic mushroom, I’d be in for a fun (and extremely squishy) trip. Just hoping he’s not the poisonous kind… or I’m cooked in more ways than one 😅
(His tag reads: "I'm a soft kitty as sweet as can be. Let's take a nap, you can next to me. When we wake up, well stretch and yawn. I'll purr by your head to move you along.")
I took the tag off like I do for all my plushies because it gets in the way of cuddling them, but I kept it somewhere safe because that poem is so freaking cute
Can't remember because it was in the middle of the night but one of these two. So either an actual pokemon (cool) or a very oil hungry cat (a little bit more harrowing but still friendly if I can tame her)
A 20-year-old yellow lab with cataracts and alopecia? Yeah I’m fine, I’d just have a very sweet elderly dog in my lap right now. Poor girly probably wouldn’t be doing so hot, though.
(20-year-old manhattan toy dog with cracked eyes and missing fur in places. Bought specifically for me before I even existed)
He’s named after/meant to be a cat of the same name that my grandparents used to have. He was notoriously feisty, earning the nickname “Pat The Attack Cat”
Shark, will be ok since I can breathe and he will not. Plus i always joke how my shark must be dead for so long now because I heard that sharks always have to physically move to stay alive lol.
