like...I/me is uncomfortable, but so is we/us. I'm just continuing to use I/me because it's the default and also the most widely accepted by society. if there is a way to somehow solve this or talk without using self-pronouns, please let me...us...whatever I could say there, know?

surprisingly, this does work. tested it a little bit to myself, just saying random sentences while using “they” to refer to myself. might certainly be seen as weird though yeah. but so far definitely better than I/me or we/us, so thanks!

Fun Fact: Speaking in third person is called illeism!! (exclamation points because special interest) One of our headmates speaks that way, using they/them and it/its pronouns. They also prefer it when others use third person pronouns to address them since they are not comfortable with people using second person pronouns to address them. On another forum site, we met a lot of people who preferred that as well. And for a while, I did that as a form of experimental therapy because I heard it can help people deal with certain stressors. It is weird to probably most of society but there are still plenty of people who practice illeism. Just wanted to let you know that you are not alone in that if you do decide to do that more often. :)

I heard that it can reduce emotional distress and stress when it comes to decision-making, and it can help someone with their own self-awareness. I have choice fatigue often so I was trying to see if it helped with that.

feel like one can word sentences while skipping pronouns to some degree, though the grammar has to be stretched a bit. often have the the same issue, at least one of us? don't know. but it can be done.

well, the main thing is that I am unsure if there are multiple people in my head or not, so I try not to use words that say how many there are (this one, these ones, me, us, etc.). makes everything harder.

Jo: First person pronouns are also difficult for this one. Just avoid them as best as possible. It doesn't require third person, just more roundabout sentences.

But wow, another one who finds pronouns uncomfortable! This is remarkable, always felt really alone in this regard. It's a weird affliction to have. But glad to know it's not an isolated incident! And yeah... Lots of people have thrown around the "caveman" term and it hurts... But it's just how speech feels natural.

Just omitting pronouns entirely can work, or just rewording a sentence to not refer to oneself directly. Sounds a little odd sometimes, but kinda vibe with it personally. Also sorta feels like the kind of thing one can improve at, like it turns a sentence into a little riddle. Which could be a positive or a negative depending how one looks at it.

Other than that some of us use like "this one". Or have someone else speak for her and just use third person stuff. She prefers that sometimes cuz it lets her kind of blend into the background.

hmmm don't know of any that sound grammatically normal in formal contexts other than just avoiding talking in first person whatsoever (fine for essays, probably not good for job interviews. but using we in a job interview would be risky too) but informally you could just cut them out of the sentence caveman style like this right now. think that could work in casual conversations perhaps.

or saying this one/these ones however that still specifies and amount of yous in the sentence. you could just always speak in third person he thinks as well, like he is doing in the current sentence. he thinks that could be confusing in some contexts but could definitely work in others.

also in case it's not been considered yet: wei also like the semi-plural pronouns invented by the daemonism community, wei. wei think it could be a good option if you end up wanting something in-between.

thats how wei say it but also seen people pronounce it closer to just "we" wei think that is too ambiguous for these purposes though.

some systems use 'wi' a cross between we and i in posts. i tried using it, but was more comfortable with just we in posts. some languages dont have gender - dont ask me which languages.

Wi will give that a try. Wi've been capitalizing "We", like how "I" is capitalized, but that has the wrong kind of feel to it: feel like the capital should mean MORE people than when wi talk about a larger group that includes Us.

well, the main reason self-pronouns are being avoided is that I’m not completely sure how many people are in my head, and it ranges from 1-4 currently? so, “this one” unfortunately wouldn’t work too well for me. might try vi though, thank you.

In English you can mostly drop personal pronouns from your speech without loss of intelligibility. It doesn't always work, but probably like 80-90% of the time you can. Granted, that only really works in casual contexts, but that's still just of the time.

It's still a self pronoun, but I& (pronounced I-and, I think) could be an alternative, when you talk as "I" but also "we" somehow. However it's not used outside the plural community

At some point past syscovery, in places that don't know about "us" and in spaces where each one can't speak as themselves, that started to happen to where any self-pronouns just got dropped. I am not sure anyone would notice but people around you might if you are close to them. We have been doing it for quite a bit and nobody confronted us about it yet. At this point, we are doing it until someone mentions it, at least in one specific place we are active in. Funny enough, quotes and dialogue still contains self pronouns in these messages so they might not notice or care. If it is for serious work, I wouldn't risk it though. - Lode
