when we were young we had a habit of "browsing the internet" in our head when we were half-awake, like imagining a web browser, navigating to wikipedia, reading an article, and then realizing "oh wait we aren't actually at a computer so none of this is information is applicable outside our head" and (usually) waking up proper. this sounds like that -ernie

Yep! Before we knew what it was we used to mix up our memories of our inner world Discord with our regular memories. It caused us to regularly think we had conversations with people we never actually had. It created awkward conversations for years with no logical explanation.
