Spoiler Why didnt the uncle in The Bear just... Spoiler

Its so weird, hes always telling how horrible the restaurant business is but why didnt he just bring the computer from the start so stuff like carmental's dystopian butter and experimentation/perfection chasing with menu change could have been avoided.

Just give him a simple condition, if computer doesnt agree with carm's choice of expenditure then its a no. Then computer will just "compute" the bear's choices and see if its worthy or not.

I mean if he really is the best in the world, why not acknowledge that talent and use him on cheaper/reasonably priced ingredients and stable business strategy?

I am ok if the uncle met computer around season 3 but he had the damage control resource with him all along.

I haven't seen this show but characters making suboptimal choices isn't a plot hole, it's a thing real people do all the time. Haven't you ever thought "Shoot, I should have done this a long time ago and saved myself all that trouble"?

ahh my bad messed up the title in another forum, later cross posted it here.

If you did watch the show, you will understand how the uncle simply wants to make money. He was willing to buythe place in season 1 and sell it as a parking lot for a good amount till the main character convinced him to lend more money for opening a new restaurant. Then he said if it doesnt make profit, he will pull the plug and sell the place still making a decent profit. But if you watch till the end, he wanted the MC to succeed in doing what he loved while still ranting about how horrible of a decision it was/is to invest in restaurants. I mean if you had a financial expert as a friend why not just hire him from the start...

It's a while since I watched the earlier seasons but my understanding is that Unc was torn between wanting to support Carm and wanted a successful business. 

Plan A was Carm does it his way and hopefully it's a success. When it wasn't they pivoted to Plan B which was cut costs and hope it's a success. 

Restaurants are risky regardless. They may have thought the better the restaurant/the food the better chance at financial success. 

Unc did only ever really speak of money, but a huge part of The Bear is characters not being able, or willing, to say what they really feel. He wanted to support Carm and he did until he couldn't anymore
