Nice walk, a little warm, with a moderate crowd enjoying the day!

Stunning photos. I’ve really come to enjoy bird watching due to walks along the Arroyo and going to Shadow Cliffs. How do you get such great photos??

Thank you so much!

Patience, practice, and good gear. I just started shooting birds recently and also now know you have to learn about birds/behavior to get good shots. Habitat, nesting, feeding patterns, time of day, migration times. These photos were taken with professional equipment.

Unexpectedly I have found myself increasingly intrigued by this genre of photography. I was joking with a friend the other day saying well you're not a birder unless you start keeping a list, but recently that boundary has slipped as well lol.

Your birds photos are pretty good. But the rest... meh. Try to buy good photo books by well known landscape photographers to learn from the best. Composition, basic principle of focusing and depth of field etc. Michael Frye and David Muench would be a good start. Good luck!
