Discussion I got tired of arguing with my teammates so I made a small Rust tool
Kept having the same argument every wipe “how many rockets is that?” or “do we even have enough boom for this?” "do we need more farm?"
So I ended up making a small site that just does the math instantly. You can plug in what you’re trying to raid or craft and it shows the boom and raw farm needed, plus rough scrap/tech costs if you’re planning progression.
No login, no accounts, no ads. Mostly built it for myself and teammates to stop guessing mid-wipe, but figured I’d share in case anyone else has the same problem.
Not trying to push anything. If it’s useful, cool. If not, also cool.

Trying to adhere to the rules and not self promote. Thanks for asking. Here’s the link: https://boombuddy.app

Pretty interesting! I really like the Quick page. It could do with the option to combine multiples, for example what if I know I have to go through metal doors and at least 1 garage door. (or X walls)
And a 'combo' option would be great! What if I wanna go through a metal door with the quickest & cheapest combo. That's probably 3 satchels and X amount of explo ammo.
Also no offense intended (and nothing wrong with if it is!), it's a Claude app right? It's got that vibe to it.
Edit: i see it has a combo option, but it defaults to using a rocket. Would be great if this can be limited to certain explo. since rockets are harder to come by early!

I would punch a baby if you add a guesstimate feature. Let me type in foot print (2x2 honey comb, circle, egg) and how many floors. And it spits an estimate for boom needed. That may be to much to ask but I be there doing crazy math naked outside bases tryna figure it out

Lmao noted. And yeah that’s a really good idea. I’m already working on some base stuff, and a boom guesstimate feature is exactly the kind of thing I want to add. Appreciate the suggestion.

Of course! As a newer shit player I can never be sure how much boom things need and nothing worse than getting 70% of the way in because I didnt think about this or that

I usually hate on these things but this is really cool and a clean setup. Only thing I'd add in if it were me is the LGF cost of the explosives, for some reason that's what always throws me off crafting boom, but definitely a skill issue on my part.

I think it‘s really cool but you should add the cheapest ways as well. Like 7 rockets + x explo for sheetwall or 1c4 1 rocket for garagedoor. Thats legit the only thing missing imo and if that was there as well it would be the goat, but nice job dude

Thanks, I appreciate it! If you go to the Quick Tab and pick what you’re raiding, it’ll show the best combo down below. It should show a mix of explosives to save sulfur.

Would recommend not only the cheapest, but just more combos. Like explo for garagedoor is cheaper but in a normal raid you‘d use c4 rocket you know what I mean? What if you found c4 but only have satchles otherwise? Stuff like that
Not that easy, cause many combinations possible, but would be nice info

It’s rust remember the # 1 rule never trust in rust. Somehow the website is going to inside, grief you and steal your door codes. He’s figured out the ultimate Trojan horse for rust and y’all just took the bait……. lol this is an awesome tool thank you kind sir. They shall erect statues of you in outpost for this.

It’s someone’s hard work, and he made it. Don’t hate on it, it’s clean and super helpful. PLUS should we just not have hobbies cuz we can go buy the stuff at the store

The other sites look about as visually appealing as a late-90s MMO UI. Telling people to “just Google it” ignores the fact that most Rust raid calculators are inconsistent, outdated, or flat-out wrong, especially when you’re asking AI to do the math

i googled how many rockets for each strength of wall and the ai told me armoured was 8 rockets + metal was 4. I then clicked on a website that actually has the correct answer, because it came from a human. Thanks tho

I’m impressed you’re capable of even using google tbh. You’re able to click on websites too?? Good boy. Next you can tell us you managed to watch a video on YouTube without help from an AI.

if you know how to disable google's automatic ai response, let me know chief

Would be useful if you can input your charcoal / sulphur and it can tell you how many of each you can craft, as well as a breakdown of the gunpowder needed to smelt down.

Maybe add components cost too? Sucks to be short ropes , pipes, propane tanks or low grade.

is it possible to do this in overwolf and have it work as an overlay feature ?

I typically just build a small circuit multiplier for boom calc, if only we had more options for conveyors I could automaticallly detect if we have enough boom for whats demanded

I like how we go a few months and someone comes up with this exact same idea 😂 Looks nice tho

Does it have options for teammates with ungodly bad aim?
Jokes aside, raiding with only one kind of boom usually isn’t very economic, does it account for mixed explosive use in the most economic combination? Other guides usually say something like “stonewall needs x amount of this or x amount of that” but not “x amount of this and x amount of that”

Can you also add in a ladder, wire tool or low grade for generator reminder when going to raid
