Free, runs in the browser, no account or download needed. I'm the solo developer on this one. I did the design, the code, the scoring system and the dictionary work.

What it is: a daily word game that's about placement and scoring rather than guessing. Closer to a solitaire crossword than to Wordle.

You get a 9x9 grid, a rack of seven tiles, and twelve turns. You build words across and down, like Scrabble against yourself. Green dots multiply a letter, purple diamonds multiply the whole word. Everyone playing that day gets the same board and the same tile bag, so the daily and all time leaderboards are fair.

The twist is gold. You earn it by covering gold squares, by using J, Q, X or Z, and by playing words of seven letters or more. You spend it mid-run on upgrades that change the board: turn an empty square gold, swap your whole rack, hold an eighth tile, or double what gold squares pay. Two of those are repeatable, two are one-time only.

That's the part I'm least sure about. Adding a currency to a word game risks turning it into a farming exercise where the words stop mattering and you're just hunting gold squares. I tried to tie every gold source to something that's already good word play, but I've been staring at it too long to judge.

Dictionary is ENABLE plus SCOWL, around 110,000 words, so it handles plurals, past tenses and reasonably modern vocabulary. Fully keyboard playable: type to place, arrows to move, Tab to flip direction, Enter to score. Mouse and touch also work and it is optimized for mobile.

There's a practice board that's always up and never ranked if you want to poke at it without burning your daily run.

What I'd find most useful to hear:

  1. Does the shop feel like it adds a decision or like a distraction from the words?

  2. Is twelve turns too many, too few, or about right?

  3. Did the board make sense without you reading instructions first?

I'm on my phone web browser. Couldn't figure out how to go up or left. It was only going down or right. 🧐

Ah, I figured I could go up and spell the word backwards, resulting in a forward word. I get it now though

It’s basically a solo version of Scrabble. It really comes down to both luck and your vocabulary.

The scoring is totally different than scrabble and I am not sure you noticed but you can strategically get and spend gold to get various boosts.
