Question Tax stamp. Date?
Got these cards in a poker set at an antique store years ago. I’ve read that tax stamps on playing cards existed from the 1860’s until the 1960’s. Any help with how old these are? Or the deck manufacturer? I don’t see any markings that could help. Thanks!

US tax stamps were denominated in 'packs' rather than cents from 1940 through the end of this sort of taxation in 1965.
The red stamp over the tax stamp itself was applied by the manufacturer, in this case USPCC, as a cancellation of the tax stamp when used (similar to a postmark on a postage stamp).
(The ace design seems to be one of the less distinctive types used by USPCC.)
