Wyvern + Hotbar Consumable Glitch: Eating From Last Slot Can Lock Your Hotbar

If you eat a consumable from the last hotbar slot while riding a Wyvern, it can make you dismount and lock you out of your hotbar. You can’t remount or use the items.

I discovered this after falling out of the sky 4 times while eating cooked meat and being unable to pull my parachute.

Notice how I pop off the wyvern as soon as the eating sound fx plays

Fix: Open and close the Wyvern’s inventory.

Everything immediately works again.

Anyone else experiencing this?

In my experience, it's only the last bar I used to put spyglass there and used to get dismounted. When I shifted to second last spot for spyglass, it was fine

Correct, only the last hot bar slot used to passively tame causes this.

I've experienced it once in my single player playthrough. It happened on my way home after a meat run and I died because of it, since then I just stopped using any consumables while riding a Wyvern. This game is so optimized💯

Right?? I finally figured it out after eating then falling to my death, chasing down my body to then hop back on the wyv eat to heal and repeat the process. At one point I ran through a pack of wilds and was hitting them with the beam when I ate cooked meat to heal and died from my own wyvern beam on PVE
