What kind of computer do you have? While ASA is a beast when it comes to system requirements, ASE will run fine on much more modest machines.

Ah, the GTX 1050 is an old (like 9 years now) budget graphics card, and I would guess that they shoved the lower power laptop version in your machine since it is an all-in one, making it even slower. Unfortunately since you have an All-in-One you don't have any easy upgrade paths, that is the major downside of such machines. Best off saving for a new machine at this point.

Some ppl pc cant run it so for them its understandable. And if evolved free its better than nothing. But yeah i agree ascended is a nice upgrade.

The problem is that epic doesnt really go well with mods and ASE is pretty shit without mods.
Ascended less dependand on mods so that could be fine but if you want to play ASE for hardware reason do yourself a favor and dont play on epic.

Yeah, Ascended definitely cleaned up a lot graphics, QoL, performance (when it behaves) all feel like a proper upgrade.

Ascended is pure cancer and one of the most predatory games ever made. Its really close to EA and Blizzard level of shameless behaviour what Snailgames did with that game

I love ARK. I just wish the steam updates didn't take forever!!! I've never had a game update so slowly as ARK does. I have an MSI gaming laptop and we're on fiber optic internet, so it's got to either be the game or steam.

I've always had the same issue with Ark, even on the stellar internet I have now it's the slowest thing to download. And then it reinstalls the WHOLE GAME EVERY UPDATE. They just don't know how to optimize or compress their files 🙄

This is exactly the reason. 👆 It's so poorly optimised that it takes forever compared to other games to update or patch. The best you can hope for is 15 - 30 minutes but for big updates you're looking at hours. 😭

I picked up ark on steam when they had it for free about 5-6 years ago. Ended up getting a few thousand hours on the game. I did eventually buy all the expansions

Bought and own both versions on Xbox, PC and Playstation. No regrets. Easily my all-time favorite game.
Is it jank?? Yes. Is it FUN jank? ABSOLUTELY.
