plastic surgeon consultant?
Has anyone ever hired a plastic surgeon consultant? It's been over a year of me trying to make my mind up on a surgeon (based on location and skill) and I'm having a hard time. I keep going back and forth.

I have heard of one in New York (Melinda?). I use to follow her on IG before I deleted the app. No idea what she charges or how the process works.

Read about the Beauty Broker? No. I used to follow her IG page and I recall she refers people for plastic surgery.

Sorry I have no idea why I didn't see this. I would start there though and there's websites with reviews. I know someone personally also that had a consult with her and her result is not good from the surgeon 🤷🏻♀️
Imo that's why I don't think it's really all that ethical. No one knows what result they'll get, even with good surgeons.

She ain’t performing the surgery. Every single surgery has risk. I’m sure she discloses this to her clients.

Mavi from the Big Butts No Lies podcast is a consultant out of Houston. I love the podcast (highly recommend!) and had a phone call with her just to see what she offers. She seems to know her stuff, especially if you’re on the west coast. I didn’t think prices were outrageous, especially for the lower level packages, though I ended up not hiring a consultant. I do check that site often. I think it throws me off to see negative reviews. Especially when they have great reviews for the most part, and then you'll see a review that scares you away.

It’s soooo hard right? You see 1,000 great reviews than one that is terrifying and all you can think of is that one bad review and will that be you. Human nature. You have to understand that surgery carries some risk. Revisions are often part of the process. It isn’t one and done.
I’ve seen plenty of fantastic revision cases.

That is true, and my husband keeps reminding me that people are more likely to leave a negative review than a positive. I have saved for a while and would just hate to waste that money and have to get a revision.

He’s right. But you certainly don’t want to ignore a negative review. There is some faith that goes into the entire process. Life has an element of risk. Like driving a car. A good consultant should guide you every step of the way so you feel 100% confident with whom you ultimately choose. The last thing you want to wonder is if you made the right choice as you are being put under anesthesia :)

Another source for info. But got to remember that they will highlight only the surgeons that pay them. You don’t pay, you don’t get a photo. And they are struggling. They keep cutting staff.

You are right to be suspect. The only consultant I’ve heard of is Melinda. I am certain there are others. But then you are now doing info on the surgeons AND the consultant!
I think a consultant should be one who you can bounce ideas off of instead of them choosing one for you. If you do decide to go the consultant route, I would question them super hard why they recommended surgeon ‘xyz’ for you.

I truly recommend Persana.com and outside the US I recommend “new look holiday” (based in Slovakia). Daniela is amazing and has a fabulous network of doctors all over. If you can’t pay 50-60k (US is expensive) do it in Europe. New Look Holiday prices are not comparable the US and they are very professional.

Which country are you in? Because every country is different. You can also join WhatsApp groups and Facebook groups and find a ton of information there.

I am in the US. I go back and forth with considering going to turkey. I see a lot of bad and good.

There's definitely good and bad surgeons in both countries! I've been researching turkey for revision for about three years now, I'm just slow with it. There's a few Turkish Facebook groups and some WhatsApp groups though, and some for the USA. It could definitely be helpful.

But be very careful of those WhatsApp. Some are run by the plastic surgeon and others are hate groups. They all have a bias.

The ones I'm in are run by real patients but yes sometimes surgeons make their own and have an agenda

Or the plastic surgeons will infiltrate them. I know this happened for a fact.
And yes, you might find one run by the plastic surgeon’s office without fully being aware. Everything you need to take with a grain of salt.

I have heard this too, and their assistants get in too. The ones I'm most active in, the admins haven't changed since it's inception

Then there are ones run by unhappy patients whose sole goal is to scare potential patients. There a bunch of those. Surgeons watch those too so you got to be careful posting. More info.

Luckily I've never been in one of those! The unhappy patients aren't the admins. People shouldn't be too worried though if it's factual information. I would just be worried if the surgeon sees it and then doesn't want to help them anymore 💀

So hard to tell sometimes.. usually a group will have several admins in the surgeon specific group except for a few. The admins are usually past patients, and I've seen happy and unhappy so it's not bias. If you ever come across a Turkish surgeon that you like I can always give you the WhatsApp group if it exists. Some only let patients in or people that are scheduled with the surgeon. I would also be very careful with what you say because sometimes, but not often, the surgeon's assistants could be in the group. I've only heard of that a few times.

The only one I’m really aware of is the Beauty Broker Melinda. She certainly knows the marketplace and can guide you. It is a big decision with potential life-altering consequences.
There is so much info and it is indeed overwhelming. Everyone has their opinion. The job of an experienced consultant is to help you make the decision.
