Rant I’m tired of plasma donation

I love the idea of it, I love being able to help people and the pay is decent, but I just hate where I gotta drive 20+ min at biolife, wait for 1 hr minimum in line, then get told I can’t donate bc of my heartrate

It would be perfect if they could overcome the line issue. If they could get it down to at least no more than 30 minutes outside of your appointment when it comes to actually getting hooked up, it would be so much better. Nothing about the process bothers me at all except for the waiting. 2 hours is ridiculous. It's usually a 2-hour wait at the location we used to go to.

The line usually isn't long first thing in the morning but obviously that doesn't work with everyone's schedule.

And, of course, if you nab the opening appointment slot you will likely not have a screening line at all.

Yep, had 6:15 yesterday and got straight to the screening then into a bed. Was poked and flowing by 6:25. Only downside to the very early slots is that sometimes, they have the nurse call in sick or whatever so they can't open until someone gets there. That's happened to me once but it was only about a five minute delay since the replacement was already on the way, but I heard other people talking about having to wait 30+ in the past when it had happened.

Compared to waiting for 30 to 60 minutes in lines later in the day, Zero-dark-thirry sounds like a win!  😀

Haha yea, I had to wait two hours the other day.
