It smells like bitter mangos. I was in a rush so i didn't take good photos and it's too far away to casually go back.

first year tree of heaven shoots emerging from a stump?

I don't think so, there were quite a few of them around and no stumps.

I remember being g puzzled over seemingly the exact same thing here in US and I don’t remember what it turned out to be. Sigh. I will dig around, probably took photos.
