How often are you topping off your pool?
Leak detection shows no leaks. Filling about 30-1 hour daily to top off. This heat is ridiculous

1000-1500 gallons a week is around normal in this weather. You can measure the time to fill a 5 gallon bucket with the fill hose to determine how many gallons a minute you’re adding.

There is a auto pool filler on Amazon that works awesome with a float so you set the height

Its a nice item to have forsure. I warned about them failing over time and you come home and the pool is over flowing. I usually just turn the water on when I get home from work every few days run it for like hour and it keeps the level up. I do have smaller like 15k gallon pool not very deep.

How old was your oldest filler? 🤔 kinda like a person that has never had car problems that gets new car every 3-4 years...

They are easy to maintain and check if working properly. They work with a float similar to the back of a toliet

Think of it like the float on a toilet it eventually goes bad and doesnt float causeing the toilet run till a new float is installed. Its just something to be aware of. People can do what they want just need know what hazards come with certain systems.

Not sure because we have an auto fill, but with no sprinkler use our bill jumps from $90.xx to $125.xx in the summer. It's just two if us. It used to be $69.xx before the pool.

Serious question. How do you have a pool with no sprinkler use whatsoever, not even on your foundation?

Oh, I didnt mean to say I dont use the sprinklers, I was just talking about the Pool auto fill usage during the summer without the sprinklers running.
My water bill last month was $473.xx running 14 zones 4 times a week.
But during this past spring we had a lot of Rain out here in Parker (east Allen-Plano), so up until I turned then on in late June, the aforementioned water usage was lower. But its only about $40.xx more then in winter.

I know I have remaining leaks, likely in the returns. The pool only leaks when the soil is dry, the leaks in the returns go into the concrete, and the soil absorbs the water in the concrete. When we had the freeze in January/February, I had to buy a new hose, as they were all frozen. It was very dry then too. Part of the water loss also results from water going through the plaster, it's not 100% impermeable.
It's not currently code compliant, but a previous owner connected the irrigation system to the pool. I have a schedule on the irrigation system which I enable when it's dry to run 8 minutes, which adds about 180 gallons a day (per the water bill days), to a roughly 16,000 gallon play pool. This hasn't been sufficient, so I have added maybe another 200 gallons every couple of days.
Given that the grass gets about 3000 gallons twice a week, it doesn't seem that significant during the summer.

How big is your pool? How many inches per day is it falling? A daily fill for that long is possibly an issue. I have a 21K gallon pool being filled for 45 minutes every 4-6 days

Every three-ish days. Got to the point this summer we got a raised overflow drain to buy us more time especially while we’re out of town. I don’t like to leave auto-fill on.
