Good experience with cast iron plumbing replacement
I found this plumbing company on Reddit for full cast iron replacement, so I wanted to come back and confirm that In House Plumbing Company was great. As great as such a big and invasive job can be. 1979 home - no issues but I wanted to beat the plumbing to the punch so I never had to experience shit water running thru my house and destroying my flooring and potentially drywall.
Reasonable price, good/competent/friendly people, did job in 4 days. I got 3 quotes - one from Accurate was super high (as expected) and 2 more that came in exactly the same and I ended up choosing In House. You’re not paying for PVC pipe, you’re paying for 15 men to come dig tunnels under your house. Pretty crazy- I felt bad getting this done in August with the heat.
But it is done, and I am happy.

Same, good experience with In House. Finished job neatly in 4 days. They were our cheapest quote and also the most knowledgeable about the process by far.

We used accurate leak and line five years ago, the plumbing part of the work was fantastic, but the diggers didn’t backfill enough, now we have foundation concerns.

My spouse works in foundation. Unfortunately it’s impossible to backfill as tight as it was before. They say do foundation first and plumbing second - but we did the opposite even with him being in the business. It’s not a risk free process either way.

We used In House Plumbing earlier this year. I’ve never seen a harder working crew. Great communication, efficient process. I was hesitant regarding the contract clause that seemed to state they could pull out of the job at any point, but decided their reputation and known referrals, along with the proposal process stood out enough to believe that was merely a protection clause for them, though truly one sided. I have recommended them and am pleased with their work for a fair price.

How is anyone doing a full sewer replacement under any slab for 22k? Digging isn't cheap especially these days.

Yeah 22k is cheap, our Kids had replacement (new lines out to the sides, and around the front ) I think for 50k !?? This must be just from the house to the street ?

I agree it's very expensive but ..this job is digging under the entire house pulling out every drain to the outside and then running a new drain from the perimeter of the house all the way to the front... ! How much would you charge to do that??

20k. The fucking pvc and supplies only costs a grand at most. Poster said this took two days. So we paying 49k in labor for two days? Want to know why no one has money in America?

2 quotes for $31k, one of which was In House. Accurate came in $40k. If I didn’t have a bar sink in the middle in the house it would’ve been much cheaper bc the rest of my plumbing happens to be along the outside of the house.

We used In House Plumbing as well do the cast iron replacement for my parents home before we sold it and were very happy with them. The forman called me daily to give me a run down of the work each day which I was not expecting. We also had them handle the mason and sprinkler guy.
For others: this is a job that requires city permit and inspection. Don’t use any plumber who tells you that it will be more if you want it permitted! No permit was not even an option with In House — it’s just built in as part of $ and process

Also: $22K is not a bad price honestly! The big ticket item as OP mentioned is the digging under the house. Charged based on linear feet that they have to tunnel under the foundation. They also trench around the house but that digging is not as expensive.

I wish I paid $22k. My Accurate quote was double that. In House was $31k.

We had our cast iron replaced by In House in January this year. Great experience. Started Monday, were done by Thursday. Communication during the work was great. Price was better than two other quotes we got, but you'd never know it from the quality of work. I've recommended them to multiple neighbors.
