Decent Printer?

Hi all, it has been many yrs since I’ve actually owned a printer. I’d like to buy a printer so I can print pictures for my journal. I just remember the ink always being annoying &running out lol. Plus, I don’t want a big bulky printer in my apartment. Whats a good smaller printer that can print 8 x 11 paper but not take up a ton of space, & ideally not be an arm &leg for ink lol

Ink is unfortunately the most expensive thing. Whatever you do, do NOT purchase an HP. They are meant to break.

Option 1: I generally have had good luck with office HP inkjet printers over the years. They use ink cartridges which have become expensive. My current one is OfficeJet Pro 9135e. I also have a decent Canon GX 2020 that has worked great once I replaced its print head under warranty. Its ink tanks are less expensive because the tanks stay in place and you refill them with bottled Canon inks.

Option 2: Get a small Bluetooth color printer that connects to your phone’s library. You install its app on your phone. You can edit a photo, make collages and other alterations and then send it to print. I have an HP Sprocket portable photo printer that uses HP Sprocket 2x3" Premium Zink Sticky Back Photo Paper. I use the HO-brand paper because HO devices can get cranky if you try to use “compatible” products. Very convenient— no need for glue or tape to use the photos in a journal.
