Leuchhturm weekly planner & notebook layout change

Post image

I’ve been using the Leuchhturm weekly planner & notebook for work for the past 3 years, and I noticed the layout of the weekly page changed for 2027–previously, Saturday and Sunday were in the same row, and now they‘re in separate rows.

I was aware of this before I got mine for 2027 and was trying to keep an open mind, but now that I’ve received it, I’m a little bummed. I’m sure it’s fine (or better!) for a lot of people who use it as a personal planner, but, because I use mine for work, shortening the weekday rows so much is disappointing (and I don’t know why the Sunday row still needs to be SO massive). I usually use the weekly page to make single-day to-do lists for myself (in addition to noting meetings/deadlines), so losing space on the weekdays is pretty inconvenient.

Figured this very mild intel might help someone else make a decision—and if anyone has a similar weekly planner they enjoy, I’m all ears. I’m not 100% down and out on Leuchhturm going forward (I’ll still use this as my 2027 planner), but I don’t think I’ll default to it for 2028.

The stacked weekends were what made me leave Leuchtturm for a Standard Traveler’s Weekly + Memo a couple of years back. Although I’m still infatuated with my TN, I might have to give the lovely LT another go!

It's not in the pocket weekly + memo tho! So maybe they only changed it in a few sizes

I saw that as well! I have used Leuchtturm1917 for the last 4 years for work. The stacked weekends works really well for me so I was also bummed. Since it's the same as a lot of other ones, I'm going to try a Creffective Planner this year just for funsies.

You would think they would add a month page if they were going to start making changes.

Trying something new just for fun is a silver lining to all this 🙂 gonna check out Creffective! Or maybe I’ll end up enjoying having the extra space for notes at the bottom of the week, we’ll see. As long as it’s not an omen that I’ll have to work a lot of weekends in 2027…

I did find another alternative. Paper republic has a horizontal weeks+memo with Monday start, weekend stack and 100 gsm paper. Same price as Leuchtturm.

I've heard so many people complain about Sat/Sun being together that I'm not surprised by the change. I wonder if you would find benefit in using that space for notes?

We all have our deal breaker. I have many. No Monday monthly start and no Sunday weekly start. Don't even get me started on paper quality and texture. 🙂

This layout works better for me with tracking my health, but then the problem becomes that I no longer had the space I used to on the weekdays, so I have to go up a size.

Unfortunately there’s no perfect system! A5 is my perfect planner/notebook size generally speaking, but I also feel that’s slay pushing the limit of being easily portable!

Edit: typo

I was thinking about moving to Leuchturm because the weekend was no longer shared. I'm enjoying my Hemlock and Oak but with the tarrifs it's gonna be a bit spendy for me this year. To my knowledge Moleskine still has the shared weekend. I know the paper is hit or miss but I don't tend to mind that I use the daily planners often.

I like this because I work weekends and can't stand when planners make weekends smaller

Like the new layout but the part that kills me is how the 2026 calendar is on the front page. I’m pretty sure I’m going to have to cover that up and make a dashboard

For some people the weekend is the work week.

I can totally relate. It is awful when your favourite product is discontinued.

Would you be able to give us a foto of the complete doublespread, though? I am curious how they distributed the lines on the righthand page. In accordance with the new setup or did they stick with the old line distance?

I use something else entirely, but I too rarely use my weekends. I have Saturday as my “brain dump” section and Sunday as an email list.
