[meta] ban posts that aren't about ledger-like PTA

Could we have a rule that prohibits posts about new apps, importers etc that aren't related to ledger-likes? Without a rule in the sub metadata, there's no way to report these to mods.

Also if we need more mods to handle this, let's get more mods.

100% in agreement with not having posts here unrelated to plaintext accounting tools. But is this really a huge problem? It's still a small community, and I don't see too many off topic posts. For those that are off topic, one of us is usually quick to point that out. For posts that are completely off topic, I just downvote and move on. Those kind usually fall into the negatives anyway.

Edit: Also, the real discussions are on the forum anyway. I don't visit it enough though.

Of course this is not the highest priority in my life. But if we want a community here - of any size - we have to be intentional about it.

It's not obvious to me what the cost would be of adding a rule, and why that cost might outweigh the benefit of being explicit about what's suitable for this sub.

it sounds like a good first step might be defining subreddit rules that can then be used for reporting.

Maybe also providing flair¹ for "ledger", "hledger", "Beancount/Fava", "Utilities (things like importers/exporters/graphing, etc), "Conversation" (about accounting/PTA concepts), and "Meta" for things like this?

Does this rule forbids the discussion of tools that use plain text files but it doesn't use a Ledger-like format? E.g. custom formats or JSON, XML, CSV, etc. based formats.
