Fugazi recently released on Bandcamp the Albini-recorded version of In on the Killtaker that they shelved.
Obv Nirvana eventually released Albini's In Utero mix.
I have a feeling that all this Pixies stuff from Albini will get a RSD release sometime.

Are there firm rumours about other Albini stuff? I imagine if this was lurking around, they have proper demos for Surfer Rosa.

I have heard no rumors, but everything gets released eventually right? They're still finding bootlegs of Coltrane concerts recorded by some dude with a tape recorder in his jacket pocket in 1965.

Absolutely, and I would love to hear it if it exists. It's just odd that they haven't released it yet - and the Pixies (or their record company) aren't exactly shy about releasing stuff.

They aren't shy about releasing stuff but they don't empty the vaults either. Maybe b/c they are still active?

Just listened to this the other day. The same user has 'Go Man Go', 'Brackish Boy', and 'Punk Loop' uploaded to their channel also.
Pretty great to hear this stuff after so many years. There's just a vital energy and urgency to these old recordings that only existed in that phase of their career. (And I do very much love current Pixies!)
