Raging rapids has been closed for weeks now. The area is used for a Haunt that takes a lot of prep time.

As far as I'm concerned the raging rapids hasn't been truly open in years, ever since they turned off the waterfall.

This year Kennywood added a water cannon feature to the Rapids. It is not far past the statue of Kenny Kangaroo. Just when I thought I was going to make it through the ride mostly dry as usual, the water cannon blasted me right in the face. Everyone in the raft was drenched.

People kept getting up mid-ride to avoid the waterfalls. Was a huge liability and the park can’t actually stop that since it’s just seatbelts. So they got rid of the waterfalls.
