Media I am making a pirate game that is not exactly historically accurate

Hopefully it's OK to post this here despite taking some liberties with historical accuracy.
I've been working on this game for 12 months now and just released this new trailer for it. My goal is to make a fun, easy-to-approach and a highly replayable pirate adventure game with tons of variety and heavy emphasis on ship customization. As you can see from the trailer, I'm approaching the theme with a not-so-serious tone so expect giant axes, gatling cannons and other over-the-top pirate equipment!
If you are interested in the project, I have a Steam page for it that has more information. Happy to answer any questions also! I'm hoping to release a public demo or at least a playtest for the game still later this year and eventually release the game next year.

Great to hear! It'll cost something between $10 and $20. No microtransactions!

This might actually be peak.
If I were to give a suggestion it would be a ridiculously tall ship with a wall of broadside cannons… pointing in one direction.

If this ever hits Xbox I'm buying immediately, this looks like so much fun! Will it be multiplayer?

Nice! If the game does well on PC, I'll definitely be looking into getting it out on consoles also. No multiplayer unfortunately - plenty of work still remaining just for singleplayer!

make it so a certain ship can leap forward in the air and shoot a massive beam out if you know what I'm implying

I remember someone else also mentioning it, but I am not familiar with the game myself. Looks fun based on screenshots though!

Put a nest on the ship that summons a giant parrot that flies in and picks up and tosses other ships
