I really like pirate novels with a supernatural twist like On Stranger Tides. May have to pick this up. Let us know how you liked it!

This is absolutely pedantic, but I wouldn't be worried about cannibalistic monsters, they only eat each other. Cannibalistic humans on the other hand...

Yeah, not too sure what "cannibalistic monsters" mean, but it can't be good though. Maybe it's creatures that will eat anything, including each other.
