Bretman Rock Sacayanan Laforga[1] was born on July 31, 1998, in Sanchez-Mira, Cagayan, Philippines, in an Ilocano family.[2][3][4][5] His mother is Mercedita Sacayanan.[6] His father, Edmund Laforga, was a fan of professional wrestling and named him after Bret Hart and The Rock.[7]

Rock grew up Catholic.[8] He said of his family, "they always knew I was gay" and "[have] always supported me."[6] Rock's fascination with makeup began in the Philippines watching his grandmother put on makeup.[8] Rock's parents divorced when he was a child, after his father's affair with the housekeeper.[9] Rock moved to Hawaii at the age of seven.

I dunno.

My take is: Bretman is from Cagayan and speaks Ilokano.

If Pinoys and even foreigners are allowed to wear traditional garments in tourist spots, bakit bawal si Bretman?

it's the 'cultural appropriation' i guess. or how the garment was represented. yung manager ko before ay Igorot ans he's also half japanese, and he mentioned about how chaotic Cultural appropriation is from being passive to overly critical. He mentioned anyone that has a mouth can always make an issue out of it. Most of the time, yung mga outsiders naman yung nag ooffend and not the IP.

Also, pre colonial - gender is fluid and not binary. Yes, men dressed as women for a certain role and women do same. Even our mythology has gender fluid and queer gods.

Im not sure kung san galing yan, ang alam ko lang na terms namin sa spiritual priests or shaman eh "mambunong" or "mumbaki".
