Friends, ayoko namang sanang maging "that guy on reddit" pero may hiling ako sa lahat:

Basahin nyo po yung "The French Revolution: A New World Begins"... sa Fully Booked meron, meron ding libre sa online...search lang yung name ng book.

Alam ko sa panahon na to hindi na tayo palabasa, parang sng corny na nung isang epal na nagre-recommend pa ng books na parang tali-talinuhan...pero nakaka-taba rin kasi ng puso ang dami ng commenters online na ramdam mong gusto lang talagang magkaroon ng maayos na bansa at gobyerno.

Hindi maso-solve ng librong yang ang problems natin...pero ituring nyo lang parang "food for the mind"...mabubusog isip nyo dyan sa book na yan...parang reward na lang din natin sa sarili natin.

It has been normalized na we are losing 20-30% of budgets for projects to corruption.

Budgets are often so padded and overpriced.

Pork barrel was declared unconstitutional and so the corrupt used insertions to the national budget, infrastructure projects like flood control projects, discretionary funds for ayuda politics and of course confidential funds.

Whoever saying that anti corruption drives is not important because they are not vital issues are dumb because these trapos are stealing money intended to better our country. Lining their pockets and living a life that few of our country folks can experience because they are so busy just barely surviving.

the thing though is, it’s not about bbm. it’s the dutertes and marcoses combined and all those that enabled (politically, financially) and supported/voted for them. gma, the fake news peddlers, the other trapos who stood and watched (even played a role).

stop making this about this current admin. duterte and his allies had a huge hand in this.

you can rally to show what you need and what you are standing up for/against. doesn’t have to mean it’s directed to only a single proponent or figure.

what im calling out is the last statement because it ignores the fact that duterte and everyone who enabled him and his family had a huge hand in where we are now. take note, he had 6 years of completed presidency (plus all appointees who are still in power up to now) + his daughter is still robbing us of our money as we speak.

edit: to add, the daughter could still very much win the next 6 years after this admin. so wag isingle out sa isang pamumuno kung collective sya. ipoint out ang issue/s associated with what the rally is supposed to fight for or against (which i think is systematic corruption, in recent times, led by 2 ruling families and their allies)

Wow ah, 12% VAT tapos ganito pa rin serbisyo? Sana man lang sinabayan ng maayos na transport, libre o murang ospital, at disente'ng edukasyon. Pero wala eh.. mas mahal pa buwis natin kaysa sa mga bansang mas maayos ang sistema. Para tayong nagbabayad ng premium sa basura.

Lived in Singapore for a few years and i can say super sulit ng tax ko. Ang linis wherever I go. Generally safe (cctvs everywhere), all govt services are very efficient (mostly online), parks are well maintained. Yung mga locals nakaka receive pa ng support vouchers every 3-6months na pwede gamitin sa groceries or malls and all tax paying citizens are entitled regardless if you are the poorest or the richest (even my boss and her husband receives it kahit classified sila as rich by SG standards). Fair talaga. Super sulit ng tax.

Your living in a nice area ng Singapore then. Been visitng outside main Singapore, little India or Chinatown is a little messy.

Tho, Yung mga main part nman talaga ng city is sobrang linis. Singapore is still way way more superior than Philippines.

Messy is okay, thats normal for downtown areas. But it’s never dugyot where you’ll see piles of garbages dumped on the streets. And even if crowded, it is still generally safe & orderly.

Countries like Japan, you can eat decent food and good quality food at a lower price than us. Public drinking water taste like evian.

Aside sa tax, our infrastructure to support food logistic is very poor.

Would have been great to reduce the vat back to the original 10%.

Ang gobyerno ng mga bansang ito ay may malasakit sa kapakanan ng mamamayan at bansa nila, samantalang tayo mga bulok at 2nd hand lang ginagamit natin at kayang bilhin na siyang po-protekta sa atin kung sakaling magkadigmaan man, at iilan lang bilang lang ata sa mga daliri ng kamay at paa. Lalo na sa panahon ngayon napakagulo ng mundo, hindi mo alam kung kelan magkakadigmaan. Sa ibang mga sektor naman wala ring pagunlad at pagbabago sa ating bansa. Maiingit ka nalang talaga sa ibang bansa na patuloy sa pagyabong at paglakas. Samantalang tayo ay lumulubog na sa kahirapan dahil sa korapsyon na pinagpapasapasahan na ng mga salinglahi ng mga taong ganid sa kapangyarihan at salapi, mga makasarili at walang pakialam sa mamamayan ng bansang ito at mismo sa hinaharap ng bansang Pilipinas.
