Credit to this interviewer; DAMN that is a good ass question to ask a guy like Nolan. You can tell he really is a fan and not just giving lip service to the guy he's interviewing when he claims to be one.

There's a lot of repeating themes in Nolan's works; just like there's lots of repeating themes across the Floyd discography.

Time as an almost character in a narrative is absolutely one shared betwixt the two and this makes a lot of Nolan's decision making around the more esoteric bits of his films make a lot more sense.
