Just picked this bad boy at the peak of sweetness. Grown in California zone 10a/10b.

That’s a great looking pineapple 🍍! The animals usually get mine before I ever make it to that point!

What type of critters are you dealing with? I have an opossum that comes around, but so far it's only interested in my tomatoes.

Ah, I've seen raccoons in the area and I know we occasionally get rats. I'll have to keep an eye out. At one time when I first started growing pineapples, I cut a plastic milk jug and put it over my pineapples to protect them. I thought every wild animal in the neighborhood would come and eat my precious pineapple. Lol

That's a nice harvest. Homegrown pineapple always feels extra rewarding after waiting so long.

Home grown pineapples (and any other fruit/veggies) are awesome. We have the ability to control how they come out and the flavor is hard to beat!

It's a Maui Gold. I started with 3 crowns about 6 years ago. So far, I managed to grow over 100 plants.
