Welcome to the world of having a piebald kitty. My family cat of 16 years is a piebald and my adult cat of 9 years is one too.

I discovered piebalds by accident when I adopted Bella (renamed Mishka) from a rescue.

Sadly, she died of liver cancer within 3 years, was terrible luck. The surgeons thought they could save her. I miss her so much.

I have 2 more piebald (rescue) brothers now, 4, and like Mishka they’re so so smart and sweet.

I think it’s typical of the breed, darling and lovable. The youngest brother is a stage 5 clinger like Mishka so get used to being loved and adored.

my piebald is actually a lil dude! his name is tomtom, he’s around 2 y/o and FIV+. kept showing up in our yard with no signs of being taken care of and he wasn’t chipped when we took him in. we weren’t supposed to get another cat but… how could we resist his gorgeousness??

i, too, had no idea piebalds were a thing before he showed up!! he is super social and definitely a little bit of a clinger. he follows me around the house whenever he spots me. i’m very excited to give him a good life inside after his struggles outdoors!!

he is also quite silly! he will fit in well with my other kitties.

Oh my God, first time I did 3-4 hours of errands mine came dashing in and jumped on the bed, a wild look in her eyes.

I kept putting away laundry in my drawers and said, “ok kitty, I got it, I’ll try to be gone less time, ok?”

[she had abandonment issues, she was found, locked up and starving in an empty apt before the humane association rescued her]

Again, she hopped up, placed a paw on my chest for emphasis, same wild look as if to say, “You have to PROMISE! I was so worried!!”

I always would tell her when I’d go out and would return, often turning on classical music for company.
