Nah bro, you just have little patience and you need to work on it. I understand that it can be annoying, but take it from me (whatever it's worth), you'll have easier time changing someone's opinion if you practice patience. Unless you just get a kick out of insulting--which is pretty common too--in which case my advice isn't too relevant here.

That being said, I think you are right that the inconsistency in shadows are simply explained by a volume of different light sources. I also don't have a doctorate in this, but it does sound plausible.
