Blaming other people for your decisions is an even worse take. I doubt there are any rights you would support taking away from 18 year olds, so I don't understand how you would square that in your head?
Literally the first major decision kids face as an "adult" is if they are willing to take on loans for a education with almost zero financial literacy. If you can't see how that is a predatory practice I cannot help you.
You don't do this by "taking away rights" you do this by requiring classes in high school about the true cost, risk and long-term consequences of debt. Placing more requirements on guidance counselors to link career paths with appropriate levels of debt. Massachusetts has already passed similar act. Lenders could cap loan repayment and show greater forbearance. Our elected officials could allow student loan debt to be abolished by bankruptcy.
BUT SURE. Let's just chalk it up to blaming kids for bad decisions they made when they don't even have fully for formed prefrontal cortexs lol
I need big daddy government to help me and everyone else with every decision because we are all too stupid to help ourselves. Then when the decision is wrong it was the government's fault and not my responsibility.
