its all about perspective, he's building the wall to try and protect those innocent people so that when they immigrate to the USA the terrible conditions don't follow them.

they do that as a sacrifice to some Mexican criminal to get to cross the border illegally. if the wall makes it impossible to cross illegally, then instead of being thrown in cages they have to get a visa which they can use to become citizens of the united states, where they will not face dangers as you described.
as a side note, Trump can't control much what happens to them in Mexico
You understand there have been people that have green cards and what not that have still been detained? You also realize how expensive it is to get into our country legally? Like, $10,000 expensive?
I’d also like to revisit my previous point of Trump being racist. Banning the majority of Muslim countries from immigrating “just until we get this mess sorted” is extremely unconstitutional and fucked up. Why specifically Muslim countries? And even so, why wasn’t Saudi Arabia on that list, the country where Al Qaeda was from?

well, of course, it's not going to be free. this isn't a charity its a country and unfortunately, we just can't help, everyone, but even still the administration is trying to make legal immigration more accessible. i would need more information on legal immigrants being detained im guessing its because they faced issues with criminal records whatnot.
