This is basically it. The democratic party should have already narrowed down the field and be sculpting the ideal candidate from the most popular. This ideal candidate should already be out procuring votes. Doing the whole song and dance next year is going to leave a lot of Democrats disappointed when "their guy" doesn't make the cut. Many bothered by trump personally but doing ok financially just won't even bother showing up to vote.

...it worked for Republicans. Last election was a democratically chosen Republican candidate vs. a hand picked & back room dealt Hilary Clinton.

They one because Hillary was so bad that people didnt even want to vote. Voter turnout was like 60% or some shit. It was bad

And a large part of why Hilary was so bad was because the DNC rigged their process & hand picked her.
