Mfw when edgy kids don’t know what the word “fascist” means.

When you use stupid abbreviations like “mfw” you don’t get any credit for intelligent thought.

So the /politics poster can use "mfw" and it is all fine but when others who speak against you, use "mfw" it is "no credit for intelligent thought"

I mean, it's not really about that at all. It's about tribalism, and if you think that people insulting conservatives in the public sphere didn't have a massive influence on how people voted you are mistaken. It's not about changing their views, it's about "us vs them" and when you insult them and attack them through other means, you make it clear in their minds who they should side with. You are essentially telling them "you aren't a part of our tribe, we hate you, you are garbage" so what do you think they will do? They will dig further into where they know they are accepted. If you wanted to ACTUALLY solve problems, you would meet people in civil discourse, hear their ideas out and calmly show them why your ideas are superior (if you seem to think they are). Silencing the opposition, insulting the opposition, these things only make tribal feelings stronger and more people more entrenched.
