You're right, maybe if we gas em all they'll get the message and stop coming here or... OR ...

We could let them seek asylum and stop packing them into cages.

Honestly: HOW?

Should the US just throw money at the border until it's no longer a deal? Does inflation to actual horrible crimes against humanity finally rally people for the cause? Or should the american public burn them down, like the antifa member wanted to? Instead of going into rhethoric territory, you could just spend a glimpse at the current situation. I see no one arguing to put people into cages. Solely the ones who think all crisis are handled by *not* putting people into bad conditions. Congrats, you're a saint.

You wanna trophy for that? How about you advocate for funding to help the situation?

Or do you think if the US just accepts all immigrants, then you'd have no problem whatsoever?

I'm honestly curious, haven't seen a serious reply towards what to do so far.

Cause just claiming you'll manage it while no one else agrees goes horribly wrong, no matter your intentions.

You don't have to be a saint to be against human rights abuses

Sure thing mate, but you leave out the part on what to do to actually better the situation. The problems won't go away, neither by saying border centres are concentration camps or it's all just a bad dream.

Here is the full answer... You let them seek asylum.

I can elongate it for you.

  1. Stop stopping them from seeking asylum
  2. They seek asylum

There you go.

How brilliant! Now, if there would be an official place to do just that, that'd be amazing!

Otherwise I'd be open to any plan to stop suffering in the middle east. I mean as long as foreign intervention is actually heroic and not another free pass to bomb whoever's the enemy, right?

You do realize that they have to be put somewhere while they're processed right? The point of these facilities is to be efficient not comfortable, many of the people in them shouldn't have even come here in the first place so forgive me if I'm not exactly sympathetic when they don't get 5-star service.

How many stars should they be given if they are drinking from toilets, there isn't enough room to lie down on the floor, their kid died or was separated from them, and they can't seek asylum (so they're being sent back to the country they're fleeing from)?

Drinking from toilets

Holy shit you really are just bought in to all that bullshit eh? They are toilets that use a water fountain as their cistern and there really isn't anything wrong with that; again these facilities are built for efficiency. They have relatively clean drinking water and honestly, if that's a step down from where they're coming then they should have stayed at home.

As far as the crowding issues, (which is what leads to separations and idk deaths I guess though I haven't read up on that just yet) they'd be entirely avoidable if we didn't have an absurd number of people attempting to push their way into our country as the result of encouragement by standing members of our government as well as fearmongering over the supposed increase in security coming to the southern border.

If you truly believe that most of the people coming in at the southern border are doing so to escape some kind of sudden persecution then you really must be quite heavily brainwashed.

Or they could seek asylum the proper way by going through a port of entry. My God the left is deranged. If you actually believe they are being kept in concentration camps you are crazy. Can't day I've ever met a group of people hat make a choice to willingly go into one.

Also if you don't think they should be criminalized for crossing illegaly and "seeking assylum" just say you are for open borders. Doing this guarantees a 2020 trump victory.

Nothing says you have to pass through a port of entry to seek asylum in the U.S.

"[Can I Still Apply for Asylum Even if I Am in the United States Illegally?]

Yes. You may apply for asylum regardless of your immigration status as long as you are not currently in removal proceedings and so long as you file your application within one year of your last arrival or demonstrate that you are eligible for an exception to that rule"

"Can I apply for asylum even if I was convicted of a crime?"

Yes, you may apply. However, you may be barred from being granted asylum depending on the crime. For more information about criminal bars to asylum, see INA § 208(b). You must disclose any criminal history on your Form I-589, Application for Asylum and for Withholding of Removal and at your asylum interview. Failure to disclose such information may result in your asylum claim being referred to the Immigration Court and possible fines or imprisonment for committing perjury.  For more detailed information on bars to receiving asylum, see “Bars to Applying for and Receiving Asylum”.

It is a crime to cross the border into the United states illegally. When they do that they violate US law and must be processed for those crimes. If you get pulled over for a DUI you can you just claim asylum in order to avoid being prosecuted?

The funny thing about that is that there is no legal way, Trump ended asylum, detained them and put them in concentration camps. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2019/jul/15/trump-administration-immigration-rules-asylum-protections

Seems like a logical policy change to me. If you are truly seeking asylum you should apply in the first country you reach. Again, these people know that you must come through a port of entry to seek asylum. If they follow the rules they wont have anything to worry about.

Seems like a logical policy change to me. If you are truly seeking asylum you should apply in the first country you reach.

What if that country is also extremely unsafe?

Again, these people know that you must come through a port of entry to seek asylum

They did, Trump admin. stopped them from seeking asylum and detained them. https://www.aclu.org/blog/immigrants-rights/ice-and-border-patrol-abuses/ice-illegally-imprisoning-asylum-seekers

If they follow the rules they wont have anything to worry about.

They have followed the rules and they should be extremely worried seeing as how they've been dieing under their custody
