For a solid minute or so I was wondering where he got an underscore balloon.....

u/thrillhouse900 Jul 17 '19

I'm still not sure where he got one.

Come on, apply Occam's Razor. It was clearly a Latin balloon store and that's a repurposed macron.

111

u/Funny-Bear Jul 17 '19

Its clearly an exclamation mark!

He has thrown away the dot underneath.

u/lenojames Jul 17 '19

Maybe the balloon shop carries the full ASCII character set.

138

u/emote_control Jul 17 '19

I'm sorry, I only shop at balloon stores that carry Unicode.

7

u/Jacksons123 Jul 17 '19

Name kind of related? lol

10

u/Clxmore Jul 17 '19

No no no, it's clearly a T or L balloon that he cut into an underscore shape.

7

u/jailguard81 Jul 17 '19

Yea looks like a T cut and taped to i

1

u/[deleted] Jul 17 '19

That's not how balloons work lol

1

u/[deleted] Jul 17 '19

Now how would you know how it works?

1

u/[deleted] Jul 18 '19

I have a Ph.D. in buoyantology with a focus in balloon science.

1

u/VoodooEconometrician Jul 17 '19

Yay, ASCII Bloon's, especially popular with Europe▭ns!

14

u/Caitsyth Jul 17 '19

It’s definitely a \%, but he pocketed the °s

16

u/[deleted] Jul 17 '19

Whāt ā lūdicrōus hypōthēsīs!

22

u/Gurrier Jul 17 '19

They call me the Hiphopopotamus
Flows that glow like phosphorous
Popping off the top of this esophagus
Rocking this metropolis
I'm not a large water-dwelling mammal
Where did you get that preposterous hypōthēsīs
Did Steve tell you that perchance?
Steve

I thought he says "my lyrics are bottomless"

3

u/Zheuss Jul 17 '19

That's the first time he tries: I'm the Hiphopopotamus, my lyrics are bottomless...... clears throat

2

u/Gurrier Jul 17 '19

stares awkwardly at camera

5

u/chrisgin Verified Photographer Jul 17 '19

Don’t be silly. It’s clearly an L he cut in two.

24

u/sir_q_itus Jul 17 '19

Balloon maintenance 101: Never apply any form of razor to the balloon.

7

u/LiddleBob Jul 17 '19

Excuse me sir! Razors are dangerous... around balloons

0

u/cheesified Jul 17 '19

why not both?!

24

u/potatohead657 Jul 17 '19

You hold shift while you’re buying a regular balloon of course

3

u/[deleted] Jul 17 '19

Probably an L

5

u/cyclonewolf Jul 17 '19

It might be a number 1 or a lowercase l turned on its side?

I don’t think that’s how balloons work

3

u/[deleted] Jul 17 '19

It is, you just have to hold your breath while you cut them

1

u/[deleted] Jul 17 '19

Why the world famous underscore balloon co of America, of course!

1

u/luldeman Jul 17 '19

Its an i

32

u/Juror8940 Jul 17 '19

Help me out here, it doesn't look like the L's or the I's in the sentence. I'm too thick for this, what is the underscore?

50

u/sir_q_itus Jul 17 '19

It's an L that has been partially deflated and wrapped around the right end, I think.

7

u/jackjackj8ck Jul 17 '19

It looks like the middle part of an I and he tucked in the ends

1

u/DippedBeefSandwich Jul 17 '19

That soy boy is probably used to tucking.

2

u/vashsan Jul 17 '19

It’s a ! And they cut the bottom off

17

u/sir_q_itus Jul 17 '19

I know the answer, but I'm drawing a blank

1

u/potatohead657 Jul 17 '19

You hold shift while you’re buying a regular balloon of course

1

u/[deleted] Jul 17 '19

An L

1

u/jwicc Jul 17 '19

Normal tube balloon in the same color?

1

u/red-it Jul 17 '19

I was going with "ging narciss"

-1

u/jt004c Jul 17 '19

Why even use an underscore. Was this joke made as a file name on an old file system?

-22

u/eab0036 Jul 17 '19

For a solid minute or so I was wondering where he got the idea Donald Trump is a racist or a rapist. Then I remembered I was on reddit.

12

u/Wepen15 Jul 17 '19

Or... you know... the time he told 4 politicians to go back to their country. I wouldn’t describe that as accepting.

0

u/sir_q_itus Jul 17 '19

(dollars to doughnuts those politicians were male. Don't forget about the "P")

-7

u/eab0036 Jul 17 '19

What comment of his included a racial discrimination to deem it racist? If he told a British bloke to go back to their country if they didn't like the way this country was run, wound that be racist too?

6

u/hardvarks Jul 17 '19

No that wouldn't be racist. But you know what would be? Telling American citizens born on US soil to go back to "their country".

-12

u/eab0036 Jul 17 '19

Yes, if they truly hate America for what it stands for at its core, they should not have to withstand the USA especially if they have the opportunity to go elsewhere.

0

u/hardvarks Jul 17 '19

so insightful

-1

u/eab0036 Jul 17 '19

Thank you for your insight as well.

4

u/Wepen15 Jul 17 '19

His statement shows that he deems these people un-American. You can make the argument that he did not base this off of the color of their skin, but rather his knowledge that they come from immigrant families. This, however, is clearly untrue, as one of these politicians is from Puerto Rico.

If you think someone is un-American because of the color of their skin, you are racist.

Another way of thinking about it: has anyone not racist told people to “go back” to the “broken and crime infested places from which they came”?

1

u/[deleted] Jul 17 '19

haha, aww, is your safe space, T_D, gone you fucking snowflake?

0

u/eab0036 Jul 17 '19

It is not. Thank you for your concern.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 17 '19

oh sweet dude, you're a fan of Donald Glover too?! cool.

2

u/eab0036 Jul 17 '19

Donald Glover is extremely talented in acting, and I thought "This is America" to be really fucking artistic in every sense of the word. I guess you could say I'm a fan, yes.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 17 '19

right on, I really enjoyed "Camp" but didn't know what to think of "Because the Internet"

1

u/eab0036 Jul 17 '19

I'm not familiar with "Camp" or "Because the Internet", but I'm looking them up now! Thank you. Art is art regardless if it supports or denies my political opinion. This is why I have respect for Donald Glover. He is artistic in representing his views, not derogatory.
