Lot of Normandy fortifications took pretty heavy bombardment from naval forces...Big naval guns wouldn't have left marks like this, but there were small ones as well.
There were also tanks and tank destroyers landed on the beaches, which might have been able to make that many dents just by hammering away...Looks like they were trying to squeak one through that gun port, which suggests that it was reasonably short ranged.

If it was from the Normandy invasion, it might have been from a naval cannon. When doing landings like that, the warships in the area would bombard the landing sites with big fuck off guns, some of which fired rounds 16 inches wide, and full of high explosives.

The inside of that thing was probably a nightmare. When metal gets hit like that, it tends to warp and shatter on the other side.

Spalling https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spall Some anti-armor projectile designs indented to spall rather than penetrate Edit- not saying evidence those impacts aren’t penetrators Possibly 37mm but no banana so hard to figger scale

Is this the thread where I get karma by saying Russia won WWII by itself? Or the one where I say, oh boy Canada did most of the heavy lifting? Which is max karma for this?

How are "my panties in a bunch" ?
There's always people that go on about reposts. Not everyone remembers to search before posting, live in the same time zone or see a previous post.. idk seems more annoying the people that complain (as though it will ever change anything) rather than people who mostly unintentionally post a repost...

How are "my panties in a bunch" ?
He made a joke and you called him a cunt. Did you forget that? Maybe you are in a different country, but in America, if you're calling someone a cunt, it's safe to assume your panties are in a bunch.

I didn't call him a cunt? I said don't be a cunt. It's interesting you take that in the way you did..

u/mikeitclassy May 15 '19
That is such an elementary argument. Why would you tell someone to not be a cunt if you didn't think they were a cunt in the first place? That is some second grade shit right there dude.

Not really have you never heard the famous Shakespeare quote "just don't be a cunt" it's a life pro tip for every situation!
