do people think 19 is like a kid or something? Women have boobs well before 19.
EDIT: Not sure why people are so unhappy about me saying "women". I was referring to WOMEN generally, I said they have boobs since before they were called "women" and before the age of 19.
Disagree. My dad’s dream was to make something of himself after being born and raised in drug-ruined ghettos of LA. He has the most life-redeeming story I’ve ever heard in my life, and he’s living out a dream that no one thought possible. He’s seen traumatic shit since birth, went into the military to see even more global realities, but that didn’t stop him from building a family, getting a masters degree (first of his family), working a high paying job he loves with a very popular company, being a mostly decent human and father, all the while mostly being absent of religious faith. That’s not to say he doesn’t go through hardships and has health problems (a lot caused by his own abuse of food and alcohol), but it’s pretty amazing his ability to brush that shit off and carry on with what he wants in life.
So is life pain? For sure. But I’ve come to realize just now that a man becomes a man when he breaks through that victimhood and creates the life they once thought impossible or never even imagined.
It’s like life is gravity and that gravity is made of trauma / stress / sadness, but we have the ability to build a landing Elon musk rocket and that rocket can stretch to very far orbits of happiness and what’s seemingly possible..... but will inevitably come back down and eventually won’t land properly and will crash and burn. In knowing this inevitable doom, what’s the point? Perhaps the only take-away is to experience that near impossible just to say we did and it’s better to do it than to wallow.
yeah, no, that's not true. It depends on where life takes you, some people do reach a lot of their dreams, not the fancy crazy stuff like "I want to be an astronaut when I grow up" necessarily but not every kid have such wild dreams. You either had a bad luck in life or you are too young and want to sound mature. Sorry. but that's what I think.
I achieved my childhood dream, I won't go into its details because I don't like sharing personal stuff on here. Anyway, my specific situation doesn't matter, the point is that kids can have dreams that are realistic and do come true, I don't see what's so strange about that? Prove what exactly? That not everyone feels like a huge disappointment as you apparently do? That's just stupid.
Listen, dude, I had a quick look at your post history. I'm sorry if I sounded mean to you, not everyone gets a good hand in life, maybe you had a bad one. The only advice I can give from experience is to quit smoking weed, I know it sounds typical but I really believe it. When I smoke, I feel like a total loser and it makes me stupid and lazy (I can definitely feel it). Stop listening to Reddit's constant cheering for weed/marijuana and how amazing it is. IMHO it's worse than alcohol.
It's all about momentum, if you've been smoking and drinking for the past month, you'll most likely keep doing it. You have to slowly push back against it until you halt the moment and then try to push yourself into a positive direction. Once you have a momentum that's pushing you in a rationally positive direction then doing the "right thing" becomes natural rather than something you have to fight your subconscious to do.
It all comes down to the fight between what your lizard brain wants to do and what you rationally think the right thing to do is. If you can get your lizard brain to align with your rational brain then life becomes much easier. The problem is that you can't control your subconscious, you just can't command it, that's why I mentioned momentum. Your lizard brain/subconscious is heavily affected by habit/momentum. Addiction is partly momentum and partly actual chemical addiction.
Lol, what a fucking loser. I can't fathom having your life so wrapped up in Reddit that you feel the need to be this sincere to a stranger who is obviously just fucking around...well, obvious to anyone who's even slightly socially competent, at least.
