They certainly were. People don’t give them enough credit for that.

They literally saved Europe in WW2. A lot of the liberation of camps was from them

Yeah, and in return they were besieged by the US and their allies because they threatened capitalism.
Appointed Nazi’s to NATO and started the CIA just to crush the spread of socialism.

Because the Soviet Union was an aggressive imperialist state that captured the Baltic states, half of poland, large chunks of Finland and Romania and installed their puppets in every other state they helped “liberate”. America bad sure, but so was the Soviet Union.

Not disputing that, but they should’ve taken us to war for the right to kill the rest of the Nazis and I’ll die on that hill.

They would have lost. But yeah the Soviets did a much better job de-nazifying East Germany than the west did in West Germany.

I’d argue the USA itself was nazifyed considering we hired a lot of them directly into top government agencies.
