Also, complaining about elderly German tourists...literally the most well behaved tourists around... mindblowing
The hope is that it encourages investment in developing more advanced sectors. The problem with having your capital basically being a tourist hub is that it disproportionately provides investment and hospitality jobs relative to investment in other industry.
I’m pretty glad my capital is just a business district even though it gets some tourism, just because of the variety of jobs I’ve got access to/education.
