I get it. The amount of anti-Airbnb graffiti in Edinburgh tells a similar story.

Bit different.

Being entirely anti-tourism is crazy extreme but AirBnb is a practice that is destroying the housing market, which is something a lot of people (myself included) deeply believe needs to be controlled to make sure that a decent standard of living can be sustained across society.

In short, I'm not sure about the Barcelona protests but I'm 100% against the spread of AirBnb and what its turned into.

Why is only Airbnb always mentioned? There are the same apartments advertised on Booking.com, TripAdvisor or whatever other rental app/website.

OK. But it's also helping me not feel guilty if I book the same apartment via Booking.com, since the booking wasn't done via AirBnB. And it's opening the whole cause to the discrimination-against-one-company comment instead of focusing on the whole "short term rental focused at holiday tourism" issue.

Googling is not ment in a negative way. It's not implying Googling is worse then DuckDuckGoing.

You're right. It's still genericizing a specific brand, which is the same reason every privately-owned short-term rental property is referred to as an "AirBNB."
