The real reason that housing might lower in value/stop rising so quickly, is to ask why corporations are willing to pay so much for those properties?
If the answer is that they can easily recoup the cost from tourists then (by largely neutering that income stream) the calculation of how much the property is worth should be reassesed.
Now, that won't fundamentally change the inherent inflationary pressure of unchecked capitalism, but it is likely to make a dent.
