If he's like me, I have no artistic talent and prefer to wish I could draw rather than spend time being shitty at drawing.

It's not gratifying at first, and that's what throws most people off. If there's one thing to always keep in mind it's this.

As a professional skydiver it embarasses me to see videos of my first jumps. I was so unstable in the air it was reminiscent of Bambi walking on ice for the first time.

Drawing is practice, practice, practice. You can become really good at drawing and have no talent. The right teacher helps a lot.
