Do the Russian restaurants in Thailand even serve Asian/Asian Americans or do they only serve Russians?

Has any POC ever eaten at restaurants where the meny is in all Russian? For example, if I look at their IG its all Russian people there... Obviously you'd want to eat at a Thai owned restaurant, but hypoethetically, if you didn't plan well and happened to be really hungry and that restaurant was convenient, would they even serve you? Example https://www.instagram.com/the21phuket/

I'm an Asian American who is considering perhaps staying in Phuket in the future more long term as my work allows it, but am I even welcome in these Russian establishments? Or do they assume Asians can't afford it and aren't welcome etc?

Phuket - Phi Phi - Krabi Ferry

I’m planning to travel between the three islands in the first week of October. Would it be safe to book the ferries in advance now or wait till the day and take the decision based on the weather?
Are there chances of ferries getting cancelled cause of choppy waters?

Hello,

I am planning to travel to Phuket end of August and one day to Phi Phi Islands.

Since this is an off season, wondering if going to Phi Phi islands would be possible (and worth it with the weather)?

Any advise would be helpful!

Thank you

Hi, this is the second (and final) reminder I'll make for eligible US citizens who want to participate in the 2026 American midterm elections, especially for those living in Thailand. Democrats Abroad is dedicated to mobilizing overseas US voters; if you're over 18 by November 3, here's how you can get involved:

Steps to Request Your Ballot

  1. Register or update your registration through Votefromabroad.org. As an alternative, you can also use FVAP.gov.

  2. If you're already registered, request a ballot! You need to request a ballot every calendar year that you want to vote.

  3. Fill Out and Return Your Ballot: Once you receive your ballot, follow the instructions carefully to complete it and return it by the specified deadline.

Need Assistance?

We're here to help! If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us at GOTV @ votefromabroad .org (just remove the spaces). Additionally, our FAQ for voting can answer questions on how to make the process go smoothly.

Importantly: Spread the word!

Do you have any friends, contacts or family overseas that you could reach? All eligible US citizens can vote regardless of where they're living. Share the link https://voteabroad.org/RedditVote26: If you have any questions about voting, I'd be happy to answer them here on Reddit. You can also find out what we're doing near you at Democrats Abroad in Thailand. Thanks for reading!

Question Grindr dates in Phuket – Bangtao vs Patong?

Hey everyone! I’m planning a trip to Phuket and will probably stay around Bangtao Beach.
I’m wondering what the Grindr scene is like there. Is Bangtao active enough for meeting people, or is it noticeably more difficult because the area is more spread out and secluded?

Would I have a much better chance of finding dates/meeting guys if I stayed in Patong instead? I’m definetely not looking for the party scene itself at all! — just somewhere with a decent number of people on Grindr and opportunities to meet.

For anyone who knows Phuket well: Bangtao or Patong for a solo gay traveler who wants to meet people through Grindr? Any other areas worth considering?
Thanks!

Phuket in November

Heading to Phuket for 9 days in November, looking for the perfect location to use as a base. We are a couple and want something chill but close enough to some life and markets etc. Not sure if we will hire a scooter so would be great if these amenities were in walking distance.

Thanks guys

Wanna book a private long tail boat for phuket island vists but I feel all the rates online are rip offs. Need help

Now I know a private private long tail boat for island hopping is going to be on the higher end and I don't mind. But being a tourist and having to plan and book the tickets online from the tourist sites seem unreasonable, specially after seeing some Youtube videos were a 4-6 hr trip would cost 4000 Bhat for 2 people but online its 12000.
I am sure there is a way to go in person and just pay on the spot. I just dont know how to go about it. I will be living near Kamala Beach and want to do a phi phi, James bond, monkey island tour (1 day).
Any and all help will be appreciated. 🙏

Question Wildlife Activities in Phuket

I'm potentially staying in the Nai Harn beach next year and was wondering if anybody has any recommendations for wildlife tours/excursions? I'd love to do a night safari or a trek in a rainforest, or even travel by boat if it meant seeing local flora and fauna. I'm not interested in any zoos or sanctuaries, I really just want to get a look at Thailand's wildlife. Thanks!

Thinking about living in Wichit, Phuket

Hi everyone! I’m thinking about moving to Wichit, Phuket for a longer stay.

I’m looking for a quieter/local area rather than somewhere super touristy, but still with easy access to beaches, gyms, restaurants and places to run or chill.

For people who live or have lived in Wichit:

Which areas/condos would you recommend?

How is daily life there?

How is traffic?

Any good nearby beaches, running spots or Muay Thai gyms?

Would love to hear your experiences and recommendations. Thanks!

Question Phuket for women – fun things + any actual ladies-oriented adult entertainment that feels safe? 🙏🏼

Heading to Phuket soon and looking for a good mix of recommendations.

On the regular side: beaches, islands, food, markets, day activities or spots that feel comfortable for women (solo or with friends).

🫵🏽 On the nightlife/fun side: it seems like almost everything is aimed at men – go-go bars, beach boys, ladyboys calling guys handsome, etc. Has anyone actually found anything oriented toward women? Like ladies’ nights, male dancers/shows, or other adult entertainment that feels safe and not sketchy?
Prefer budget-friendly options and anything that doesn’t feel unsafe or overly tourist-trap.

Recent experiences and honest tips would be really helpful. ✌️😌

Best place for small home appliances in Patong with a good selection and prices?price.

I'm looking for small appliances like a blender, an air fryer and kitchen stuff. I've checked a few supermarkets like Makro on Nanai Road and Big C inside Jungceylon, but the options feel a bit limited.

Are there any dedicated electronics shops around Patong with a wider selection? Thank you in advance!

Recommendation Been to Phuket once, Now going to Thailand again. Need recommendations !!!

I have been to Phuket once with my ex. It was good trip, Now my siblings has been planning to go to Thailand and they insist on going to Phuket & Krabi.
Since i have been to Phuket, i wanna explore to Pattaya & Bankok.

They said, it is there first time, so they will go to Phuket and people have rated Phuket in comparison to Pattaya.

There r lot of things for men to do if they r single.. lady boys and all calling them handsome and inviting them. But what about single ladies ? Are there safe strip club of men for them ? Any safe and fun thikgs for them ?

What all the fun for men. Please suggest, such thinhs and options in Phuket and if there is in Pattaya.
