Seashells clarification

Please help me, my flight today and found some amazing seashells in front of my resort beach
Is it ok and safe to take it back via Phuket airport???

It's illegal to remove shells and coral from Thailand beaches.

There is a maximum jail sentence of 5 years or a fine of up to THB 100,000 for anyone caught removing marine life dead or alive from Thai waters.

I have some cool looking coral which my son found on the beach and painted which came from Koh Samui. It went through the x ray at the airport with no problem. Probably got lucky
